I was treated with respect and attentiveness by each staff member, especially by Dr. James Lowder, who took his time to explain to me how to exam my mouth for oral cancer, and Brittany; in addition, I truly appreciate appointments beginning at 7am. Furthermore, the office is immaculate and modern with the staff to match; therefore, I strongly recommend Southern Roots.

DR. LOWDER AT SOUTHERN ROOTS DENTISTRY HAS A TRUE GIFT FROM GOD!! I was born with issues and have gone to a lot of different dentists in my 51 years so I have a lot to compare him to and recently had a pretty traumatic experience with another dentist and had to have in my opinion a pretty intense procedure to smooth out bones and my gums. Dr. LOWDER IS THE ONLY DENTIST I WILL EVER GO TO FOR LIFE and I recommend him to anybody needing to go to the dentist. I am in "awwh" of him! ZERO PAIN, EVEN THE SHOTS DIDN'T HURT. He has a way of doing them I barely felt them. The staff is awesome and the entire experience was amazing. Truly caring and compassionate people!!

The big Southern Roots sign on front of the building had a nice ring to it, I thought. I’ve been needing to make a dental appt for a while. I pulled into parking lot, entered building, and two of the nicest people I’ve met since moving to Shreveport we’re sitting at the front desk. I made an appt right away and two days later I got an exam and a much needed cleaning. Randy is my girl! Thank you for making my dental experience a great one! The office is so clean and very welcoming as the staff. I would recommend Southern Roots Dentistry to all of my family and friends. I felt like a new man when I left and never smiled so big! Fantastic experience. Dr. Lowder and Randi went above and beyond. Very nice brand new office with TVs in the rooms. It’s nice to see a Dentist office that truly cares about their patients. Will be going back for sure.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Laura for almost 30 years and just love this office! I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. Shelby my tech is awesome and Dr. Laura is just the best! I couldn’t imagine going to any other dentistry in town.

Were told that they accepted our insurance, only to find out when we were billed that it's out of network. Nobody bothered to tell us that. When I called to ask why we weren't told, they said "We tell all patients that we accept all insurance. That doesn't mean we are in-network. We aren't in-network with anyone". NOT IN-NETWORK WITH ANYONE!!!! This is in addition to them running an X-Ray that insurance will only cover 70% of, and didn't bother to inform us of that either.
So, I said I'll pay the bills and need a copy if our X-Rays because we won't be coming back...to which the lady on the phone replied under-her-breath "obviously", thinking I wouldn't hear her. Guess what?!? You were just barely loud enough that I did!
To be clear, the unexpected bill was the smallest portion of my concern. It wasn't very much about the money, it was about the lack of transparency and poor communication...which turned into realizing just how rude and unprofessional these people really are.
I do not recommend this 2-faced, double talking business.
