P. Piero DDS Family Dentistry

Dr. Piero is the greatest dentist in Holland. He got me in the same day and it was a pain free experience. I usually hate going to the dentist but Dr. Piero made me feel comfortable and his staff is so friendly. I highly recommend them

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Piero and the team. I’ve been going to this practice for over 10 years and even when living out of state would schedule my trips back around their availability just so I could stay a patient. They truly care about my oral health and me as a person. I will be a patient for life!

I came to Dr. Piero on chance, due to a very aggravated tooth. I was told I could come in immediately. We did a root canal that morning, and today, I had my first cleaning with him. Very knowledgeable dentist, and his assistant is very kind. These two helped relieve any fears I had of my root canal, explained the process, and kept it pain free! I would recommend him to anyone, if I could give more than five stars I would! Absolute pleasure having him work on my teeth.

I recently visited Dr Piero’s office in Holland MI for a dental implant procedure. Dr Piero and his staff were amazing and very knowledgable and delivered a great education on oral hygiene. The procedure was painless and I was so pleased with the outcome and my tooth feels natural and normal. My appointments were always on time and I appreciate the promptness of the dentist and his staff. I would highly recommend this dental office to all friends and family!!!

They accept Delta Dental, however are not in-network meaning higher fees. I say this only because this office was not very forthright with this information.

I wrongly assumed that that I would be fully covered by Delta. Staff at this office explained that they would need me to endorse the check that Delta billed to my home address and then send it to them so that they could invoice me the remainder. I figured this was just something to do with billing since they told me that they accept Delta Dental. This was the first dentist that I began seeing on my own after college, so I assumed that there would be some amount of transparency with their cost. Instead, they provided vague explanations of how much I could expect to pay for services, such as "every place is different but usually about 80%". This is wrong. Delta does not cover even close to this amount for nonparticipating providers. Looking back, every time I asked how much something might cost, they would give some form of roundabout answer. I now realize that I should have done more research, but I feel that they could have been more up-front regarding not being in network for Delta or any other dental insurance.

I always had a general sense of being hustled while visiting this dentist. During one of my first visits, he tried selling me his Dental Air Force machine. It seems like a grey area in terms of ethics. It felt like a violation of an appropriate dentist-patient relationship, forcing me to politely make clear my disinterest in a product that he would be profiting from directly. He provided no disclosures regarding financial incentives he receives from this. I don't think he was misleading me regarding the effectiveness of the product, but I take issue with him later recommending that I not use an oral irrigator instead of his proprietary device. Especially because the American Dental Association has provided their seal of acceptance for some brands of oral irrigator, endorsing their efficacy in removing plaque and preventing gingivitis. The same thing occurred with mouthwash. When I told him that I was using a CPC mouthwash, he recommended I instead purchase his in-house mouthwash since I "wouldn't find cheaper prices" and because I should stay away from sodium lauryl sulfate. Mouthwash is also recommended by the ADA, including over the counter brands, some of which contain SLS. He also recommended that I get preventative cleanings four times per year. For a healthy twenty-something year old, this is excessive and a clear attempt at making additional money off me.

Overall, I didn't mind this dentist, but there were a number of yellow flags that I should have considered. I won't be returning.

Been going to Dr Piero for many years now and they always give me great service and really take care of me, I feel like I can trust their decisions on what needs to be done in regards to keeping my teeth healthy and in good shape, they treat me like family and are always very friendly and helpful with my needs. Truly awesome with kids! Conversational and engaging to ease any tension or fear. They had my son's baby tooth filled and ready to leave for home in under 20 minutes. Amazing, warm, talented folks! Can't recommend them enough!

Absolute best dental experience! He was the 7th office I called to get a molar extracted. It had been 2 weeks in severe pain. I was seen immediately. He was so kind and reassuring. Only 1 shot and maybe 3 minutes. Amazing in comparison to other similar dental procedures. His methods are beyond professional, I wish I had met him a long time ago!
Not only a five star review, I also brought my youngest in now as a new patient. She is 10 and has been fighting the same back tooth for 5 months. She has been seen by her pediatric dentist. He just couldn't fix the problem, and yelled at her to stop crying. Hmm. She saw dr. Piero and therapy helper. Everybody in the office came to meet her and put her at ease. Her problem was solved simply and she walked out smiling and happy! She is very excited for her first cleaning at her new dentist coming in a month.

I have been having a horrible time with my teeth, having neglected my oral care by not visiting a dentist regularly for the last decade . The result being very bad cavities and an infection causing incredible pain. I was fortunate enough to be sent to Dr. Piero by a coworker .The staff was understanding and I was surprised when I was informed that I would have to lose the tooth . I was worried about the pain involved . The extraction of my tooth, a large molar was the least painful dental procedure I have ever had. I would recommend everyone go to Dr.Piero for there dental needs. I now have a plan for the rest of me dental work, though my own neglect is unfortunate, I am great full for his expertise and advice.
