So thankful to have been referred to Dentistry for Families. I have had a lot of medical/dental trauma in my past including medical providers who feel they know more about my individual body than I do. I prefer to *partner* with providers acting as the data collector and person responsible for communicating what I’m feeling or experiencing.
After a most terrible experience at another VA referral community provider (whom I promptly fired and asked the VA to take off their referral list for future veterans) I was sent here. When I mentioned I had a terrible experience they didn’t brush it away- they dug in and asked me why it was terrible, spent time hearing me discuss how I partner in my care then they PARTNERED WITH ME to come up with solutions to my 8+ year tooth issue. Eight+ years of pain and being dismissed, not heard and seen.
I was fully informed and given my due respect with informed consent by being explained the 4 options that were in the realm of possible. Not just sold one option that was the easiest for all involved (extraction). When I described my previous dental implants as “another child I have to manage and care for” they chuckled with me because that’s funny 🤣 and then felt into why I was so passionate to not have extraction as the first go to solution.
If you don’t feel into where your patients are at, can you even be effective at providing care?
It was only an exam and treatment plan to be sent back to the VA, but I already was asking if they see kids (they do!) if they use silver sulfadiazine to limit cavity growth for kids (they do!) if they did deep cleanings with lasers (no lasers but scaling and numbing for the procedure) and if they took our family insurance so my husband could be a patient.
That’s how you take one patient experience and turn it into 4 🙌🏻
Oh, and I also value a community provider who’s patient experience is top notch and they take on VA patients. Because we all know the government pays the lowest and takes 6-8 months to pay these providers. Truly giving back to veterans as an office. 🙌🏻

My family and I have been going to Dentistry for Families for years. Everyone here is friendly and professional, we love them! The dental work is always five star quality and they’re always accommodating when there is an emergency or something needs a follow up. Recently, I had a situation where I needed to get myself and my daughters on schedule together, we also had new insurance delays, I felt Lori, specifically in the office always goes above and beyond to help us get through our situation. Her communication with our matters were perfect and she always knew what was going on when I called. Even when she was out the office staff where clued into what was going on with my family. My family and I feel like everyone at this dentist office genuinely cares about us and works very hard to make our lives easier. It shows, Thank you!

Love this Dentistry team!! Dr Zac and Dr Ron are amazing! Skilled, gentle, and friendly. The assistants and the hygienists are the best. But it doesn’t stop there. The office staff is always wonderfully kind and helpful. Best of the best as a dentistry team!! Thank you team. You Rock!!! ❤️❤️❤️

The staff are all amazing, kind and cheerful. Dr Soard, is gentle and FUNNY. He makeS the whole experience a relaxing environment. Brandy at the front desk is AlWAYS cheerful and professional. Jesse makes you feel at ease and is a great assistant she know what the Dr wants before he even asks. So glad I was referred to them.. I WILL BE TELLING ANYONE WHO ASKS WHERE TO GO FOR DENTAL WORK. THIS IS THE PLACE!!!

The gal that scraped the algae off my teeth was fantastic! They are incessant about your appointment reminders... "Are you coming?... But are you coming though? But you're coming right?" It may be because they are booked so solid they're trying to open up spots for people who can't get in? It used to make me angry now it makes me laugh. Anyways I do recommend this place.
