Westside Family Dentistry

I've been going to Westside for over 30 years (well to Dr. Hutchens at least). The last few times I have seen either Dr. Beavers or Dr. Marcum and they are both great too! The dental hygienists are also awesome. I was in and out in only 40 minutes for my most recent cleaning.

Dr Marcum is the best dentist I’ve ever had. Very gentle and thorough! All the women that work there are great! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This place is ridiculous. My son is 5 and has severe autism and sensory problems which makes brushing his teeth hard on him and even leads to throwing up, so his back teeth went bad. I called all dentist in Durant and no one would see him because he was autistic..only these people would. I was grateful for this.. till he had to be put to sleep to get his back teeth done and they wouldn’t let him see him own doctor the only one he’s always seen and doesn’t flip out when going to. I explained this but they didn’t care and made him go to dr. Smothers.. which was a joke on its own. Then to top it off after that nightmare .. they didn’t even call me for him to get his surgery for 2 months after the dentist told me how bad it was and he was surely in pain that it needed to be done ASAP (my son doesn’t speak so his pain was more screaming and pulling on his mouth) finally I had it and called and asked what was the deal? Finally they tel me they will squeeze him in and made him an appointment for 2 weeks later. He got in and got it done. After it was over I asked the dentist himself what we should do next? Follow up visit ? Etc? He said his office would contact me when they had any openings .. after a month I called and they said still they had none. Today 6 months later I get a text sayin my son is over due on his check up! Really!? I call nicely and explain to the lady what happened and how I was suppose to wait for THEM to contact me even after waiting a month I contacted them and still was told they would contact me.. she sounded as she cared at first but then changed her attitude and said “well it is your responsibility to contact us and make an appointment “ I was so irate at this point I said are you kidding me? She said No. (after I explained all this to her) I said you know what screw it I didn’t like this place from the start, goodbye” and hung up on her. I don’t recommend this place at all especially if you have a child with special needs. They are also too busy to get people in but you have to call everyday of your life to see if they have a opening?? Screw that.

Very clean dentist office. Amazing staff all around from the front desk to the awesome dentist!! These people will really take care of you and make sure your teeth are fabulous!! I would highly recommend this dental office (:

Always helpful! As a Family Advocte for Head Start Westside has often allowed me to bring in our Head Start babies for dental exams when the parents are not able to. Amazing staff and Dentists!!!!

Super patient, knowledgeable and friendly staff! I filled out new patient paperwork for four kids and the staff at the front desk was patient with all of my questions. My son also needed minor dental work while there and he was in and out before I even finished my paperwork.

My family has used Westside for 13 years. They have been easy to work with and very good with my children. Our dental assistants are amazing!

A great place to get your dental needs taken care of. Dr Hutchens is an awesome dentist. He has been my dentist for many years, his staff and the other dentist are professional, caring and friendly.

Dr Marcum and all the staff at Westside family dentistry are very professional, fast and courteous. I appreciate having Westside Dental in my area.
