I moved to Oklahoma City from Chicago in November, 2015. I had thought to maintain my dentist in Naperville but it became too difficult to travel for appointments. I was facing 2 root canals and another issue that he was going to refer out anyways. He also did not have any suggestion for an OKC DDS. So, I ignored my dental needs... until they became urgent in May 2021. Through the magic of social media I found Dr. Cohlmia and 2 other candidates. The communication with Dr. Cohlmia far exceeded the others’ regarding a sense of urgency; geniality; and professionalism. I was able to appoint within a day due to a cancellation. After the initial exam Dr. Cohlmia had a detailed treatment plan and the financial aspects were coordinated with Melisa. Truly well- balanced. I had an emergency the within 2 days- a bridge fell out- and I was leaving for Seattle in a few hours. Dr. Cohlmia fit me in and came up with a solution that was aesthetic and functional until I returned. I need to mention Duke - the dental assistant and future dental student. He is just great. Pre-anticipates needs and wonderful demeanor.
With all this, I could not endorse this wonderful group more emphatically. I wish I met OKC family dentistry earlier but am so thankful I am here now. I grew up in a dental community and I feel right at home here. Great work Dr.Cohlmia, Melisa, Duke, front desk, and lady but not least- Dr. B. Cohlmia for extractions!

After going through a horrible dental experience many years ago, I developed severe dental anxiety to the point where I avoided cleanings and dentist visits all together. I thought I would never make it back to a dentist because of the fear I had. Recently, I had no choice but to come to the dentist after 5 years due to a tooth causing me issues and I was recommended to see Dr. Cohlmia by a coworker. Dr Cohlmia and his staff took care of me so well. During the appointment, I had to get a crown... this made me upset as I was terrified of long procedures. In an effort to make me as comfortable as possible, they put on a Christmas movie for me and one of his staff members even offered to massage my hands while I was getting my tooth worked on. Dr. Cohlmia has a very positive and calming energy and his work was perfect. I left feeling okay about coming back to the dentist in the future which is a HUGE step for me. I can't thank Dr. Cohlmia and his staff enough for the enormous weight they have lifted off my shoulders. You guys are something special here.

This office is special. I took my senior mother to them during a toothache crisis and they accommodated her in every way. (She’d also been badly injured not quite weeks prior in a car accident.) It was mid-January and it was day they’d planned not to work; they took her anyway.
If I had to summarize the experience, it was like they already old friends and proceeded in professional and knowledgeable manner to care for her issue, get her a teeth cleaning, and get her back home as soon as possible.
I just booked my initial appointment with them today. 5 stars
