Dr. Halmos was referred to me by my dentist Dr. Youngblood. My implant screw head had broken off, Dr. Halmos was able to remove it with no further complications. He was able to replace the screw and my crown. I was impressed with the technology of how they took the imprint of my mouth. Dr. Halmos and his staff are friendly and acknowledgeful in their scope of practice. My crown looks like my natural tooth. I couldn't be much happier with my experience.

I was so nervous to have my smile worked on or changed in any way but Dr. Manning made the process so easy, painless, and quick! She completed a veneer that matches my other teeth PERFECTLY and my smile is now something I am proud of. Her staff is also very professional and kind and made the whole process a pleasure. Thank you Dr. Manning!! #veneer, #cosmeticdentisry, #prosthodontics, #smilemakeover

Regarding the reply from the owner: it has nothing to do with your schedule and not being able to schedule me for an earlier time - why even mentioning this? My review is purely about the attitude front desk person gave me when I was asking different questions. If the receptionist was busy and could not answer my question, she could have let me know about it in a nice way and then call me back within a reasonable time frame to answer them. Also, the way she was talking and the tone of the voice made me feel like I am asking for a favor or for a free service rather scheduling an appointment for a complex and quit pricy procedure which is an equivalent of buying a Tesla. You commented my post in a careless standardized manner that is not fully focused on what I explained here. Not being able to listen to a client or a potential client is one more sign of a poor quality and dental service.

Called them to schedule an appointment for veneers. The receptionist was rushing, sounded rude and uncaring. I sensed attitude and was surprised as I was going to spent money for 22 veneers.

From my experience, you can tell a lot about dentistry just by talking with the front desk. I would definitely avoid going there.

Dentistry is America is just a pure business and seems like many dentists forgotten about ethics and standards. "Fish rots from the head" and I believe receptionists represent dentists.

I've benefited greatly from 12 years of Dr. Halmos keeping my oddly grown teeth in place and in good order. His work on my crown especially was very well done and has kept my bite functioning normally.

It is a pleasure to be able to write an enthusiastic review and unqualified recommendation for Dr. Halmos, who is without a doubt the best dental practitioner I have ever known and one whom I believe to have few equals. I came to Dr. Halmos with a great deal of anxiety related to my dental care and felt edgy and frightened. Over the course of the fairly extensive dental work that Dr. Halmos has provided for me over the last year, my extreme anxiety has been replaced by a sense of trust and well-being. I actually look forward to my visits to his office. I am always happy with the results of his work and of the work of the people who work alongside him.

His staff are wonderful. Sydney at the front desk and his dental assistant Chelsea are both organized, effective, personable, enjoyable, and capable, making their own meaningful contributions to patient care.

I found Dr. Halmos to be consistently thoughtful, honest, up-front, keenly analytical, refreshingly humble, perfectionistic, resourceful, able to utilize human and state of the art technological resources to optimize his clinical outcomes, kind and positive, determined and persevering in accomplishing the best patient outcomes, aesthetically talented and detailed, inclusive and respectful of me as a patient. He is generous with his time, never making me feel he is in a hurry, but rather that he has all the time in the world to focus on taking care of me/ his patient, to the best of his (exemplary) abilities. I enjoy his sense of humor and love his stories. I think he is remarkable, outstanding, unique, extraordinary.

To put a little meat on the bones of the qualities I have detailed above, let me describe how we decided on my treatment plan. I came to him having had several dentists and prosthodontists recommend, really insist, that the only option I had was to have a full mouth reconstruction. He spent a great deal of time with me, listening to my concerns and hopes, understanding that I really wanted to retain as much of the remaining structural integrity of my teeth as was possible. He made me a full participant. From the very first day and throughout the time he worked with me, he consistently elicited my input, respecting me, my perspectives and feelings. He used his ingenuity, resourcefulness, and skills to develop and implement an effective plan that accomplished our goals without reducing the structure of my teeth, but instead adding to them. I think he called it an additive instead of subtractive process (with minimal impact, without doing a full mouth reconstruction). My bite is now great. My teeth are now well shaped, intact, reinforced, and stronger. My smile looks natural and is more beautiful than it has ever been. I am a happy camper.

I love Dr. Halmos (and his staff) and will always be grateful to him for giving me back my smile. He has made a huge and positive difference in my life.

Where do I begin?

I LOVE my implant crown that Dr. Halmos and his professional associates repaired last week. From the moment I bit down on a sandwich and heard the tooth break, I was preparing myself for that to turn into a $3,000+ sandwich. In the end it was less than 1/10th that, because Dr. Halmos and his lab associate found a way to use heat to separate the old crown -- which actually wasn't damaged and was still perfectly good -- from the (broken) abutment that was "permanently" cemented to it, then make use of the custom 3D computer CAD file -- saved from when the original crown was made years ago -- to mill a brand new abutment out of metal. At the time of the break I was told that it was an extremely unusual break. It was his day off, but Dr. Halmos met me at his practice and spent a couple of hours with me to take care of my emergency -- without a dental assistant for most of the time. I am ecstatic and extremely grateful that they looked for and found a solution that saved me thousands of dollars yet gave me a better, stronger abutment. They could have opted to build a new (expensive) crown from scratch and I would have never been the wiser.

I became a dental patient of Dr. Halmos in 2010. It was my first visit to a dentist in about ten years because, frankly, I had had numerous bad and painful experiences with dentists over the decades. Dr. Halmos changed all that. I am completely at ease with him and inherently trust his work and judgment. He is a stickler for detail, for doing the job right, and he takes great pride in his work. (These traits are also reflected in the construction of a beautiful 4-place kit airplane that he built over four years and flies regularly with his family!) He's very personable, a great listener, and easy to talk with. He presents an aura of having all the time for me that I need when I visit his practice, yet I don't think I've ever had to wait in his waiting room for more than 5 or 10 minutes.

In 2012 I needed oral surgery. The oral surgeon was in another building across the parking lot from Dr. Halmos. I was pleasantly surprised when -- during the surgery -- Dr. Halmos came to check up on me and make sure all was going OK!

Dr. Halmos told me that he attends continuing education meetings two or three times per month, which helps to ensure he keeps informed of the latest technologies and methods. And he shares his experiences as a prosthodontist by making periodic presentations at these meetings to other dentists. He's a true team player. I'm glad I found him.

Those on his staff who have worked with me -- Kristy his primary dental assistant, Lori his office manager, and Sandy his hygienist -- are all equally knowledgeable, professional, and personable with respect to their jobs.

This review is long overdue: A visit to the office of Dr. David Halmos at ‘Advanced Dentistry’ with my expectation of a successful outcome for two crowns turned out to be the worst dental experience of my life. After a two hour procedure for a crown buildup, I ended up with years of excruciating pain and face numbness that has since been present every day. In disbelief of the outcome, I thought I would receive answers from Dr. Halmos regarding my life changing daily burning pain, numbness and shock like sensations in my gums, lips and chin. Instead, he seemed very skilled in avoiding specific questions, specially when I ask him about nerve damage. I had dental work done in the same area in the past (with another dentist) without any problems of anesthesia. I naturally had to question Dr. Halmos treatment.
Dr. Halmos’ web page, at the time advertised (quote) “passion for his patient care makes him unique”. What I actually experienced was the total opposite, there was no apology, compassion, solution or ‘unique patient care’. What followed were visits with various doctors/dentists/ endodontists, a Imaging Center and an oral surgeon resulting in unrecoverable costs to me.
After surging for answers for over a year while still in pain, I consulted a Neuro-Radiologist and a Specialist trained in dental and facial nerve injuries and after several expensive tests, exams and two MRI’s I finally received their reports with details diagnosing nerve damage, the source of my pain.
On the regretful appointment with Dr. Halmos, I also was presented with an untold and surprisingly excessive bill that was about three times more than I was told by his office staff previously. After presenting my case to him, he blamed it on ‘miscommunication’ and I received a partial ‘courtesy refund’, still double the price that I was quoted before. I would never under any circumstances recommend ‘Advanced Dentisty’ and Dr. Halmos to anyone!! Eventually I had the crowns done by a compassionate dentist who I fortunately found nearby. This dentist also explained how he chooses the right anesthesia for his patients since everyone is different. There are different types of nerve block techniques as well and in my opinion Dr. Halmos never seems to have enough time to explain procedures as well as my new dentist does. I also noticed that dental mistakes are never the fault of the dentist and hiding behind some kind of a statistic is the standard excuse. The dental procedure done by Dr. Halmos causes me pain every day and my biggest regret in life is that I ever entered his office, he ruined the most pressures thing one can have, my health.
I can only urge anyone, go elsewhere.

Last week Dr. Halmos fit me in for a last minute appointment and made an adjustment on my upper bridge with implants that he had crafted for me 9 years ago. I had to travel out of town the next day so I really appreciated that he could fit me in for an appointment. The next morning while at the Portland airport, I bought a cup of coffee and the cashier said to me “What a nice smile. I like to see that.” as she handed me my cup of coffee.

I already knew Dr. Halmos and his team did excellent work. This young lady noticed the results as well. I am quite glad I found Dr. Halmos to fix my smile!

This has been a great experience with Dr. Halmos and his staff . I had a major teeth issues that needed attention and I kept delaying it for years . I finally decided to get it done , so I looked around carefully for the best Doctor in town . I did some research and after meeting with Dr. Halmos , I decided to get it done at his office . Now after 6 month , The job is done and I'm very pleased with the results .
He is young with lots of experience and he uses the newest technology available . He also pays attention to details and doesn't take any short cuts . He is also available when you need him , even though he is a very busy man .
I had some pain after the surgery and I emailed him on new years eve , since his office was closed , He responded immediately and ordered a medication for me on new years eve .
I will recommend him to my friends and family .
Thank you Dr. Halmos for great experience and great results .
