I’ve been looking for a new dentist since my dentist retired earlier this year. I was referred to Dr Larsen at Elevated Dentistry by a friend and decided to give them a try with a cleaning and exam. I liked the very professional, well trained, well organized office and Dr Larsen’s passion for dentistry and his work. Passion for one’s profession is key to excellent work IMHO. I have had other dental experiences where it felt like the service provider was living from vacation to vacation and just enduring their work life in between.
I am a big believer in Atul Gawande’s thesis outlined in his bestselling book “The Checklist Manifesto” where he outlines how simple checklists can greatly improve medical (and other) outcomes. It felt like the staff had been well trained to follow very specific procedures so as not to miss important details. When I asked one dental assistant how she liked working there, she responded that she liked it much better than the prior office she worked for. The key reason was the willingness of Elevated Dentistry to invest in her training and development.
I knew I needed quite a bit of work done and Dr Larsen and his staff focused in the initial appointment on what my goals and objectives were - a refreshing approach to make sure they met/exceeded my expectations. And they listened carefully to my multiple objectives and focused on meeting each of them. For example, I have had some fairly traumatic prior dental experiences, and Elevated Dental and Dr Larsen went out of their way to make the experience as positive/pain-free as possible. Finally, the communication both during and after appointments has been exceptional. After two appointments, Elevated Dentistry has exceeded my expectations so far. We’ll see how the quality of work and my experience evolves over time, but for now I think I have found my new preferred dentist.

He wants what’s best and always leaves his recommendation on what treatment he thinks would be best for me. I’ve never felt pressure to get anything done!
