Yesterday, November 3, I had a two hour procedure with doctor Quesnell conducting the work. Nikki was the dental assistant. I have been a patient of Sunnyslope dental care over the past 30 years and I have received nothing but excellent care. This time was no different and I wanted to mention how both Dr. Quesnell and Nikki were caring, thoughtful and professional throughout the procedure. I would highly recommend Sunnyslope dental care.

I came into this clinic based off of a friends recommendations. I have enjoyed coming and the staff has always been helpful and kind.
However, I had dental appointment this month. In the past with delta dental I have had to pay up front and then they request my insurance and it is reimbursed to me through delta dental. I switched over to northwestern mutual delta dental insurance at the beginning of the year. At my check in with the front desk I was never asked if my insurance info was correct (apparently they had my old insurance on file). I received the claim info declining to pay and called Sunnyslope to get my new insurance info put in. When the receptionist went to update my new information and heard it was northwestern and they said “ oh.. so northwestern and one other company are the only 2 dental plans that won’t cover anything.” If they would’ve asked me to verify insurance and told me that before my appointment I would’ve never proceeded with my appointment. I asked if there was anyway they could take anything off of the bill because I now have to pay fully out of pocket because their check in procedure was missed by a staff member when my insurance was never verified. I was told there was a sign by the front desk asking for insurance cards. (I work in a clinic and know insurance is supposed to be verified prior to anything so it seems like the misstep was laziness in trying to rush the check in process). They stated the doctors said there was nothing that could be taken off. I was very disappointed because I had thought they cared about their patients but this instance shows overall they don’t and it is just about the money to them. I asked if the manager could call me back so they could maybe send out a refresher to their reception so this won’t be missed in the future. I was informed there is no manager of the clinic, which I find extremely odd. I am extremely dissatisfied with this clinic.

I was so happy with everything I received from Sunnyslope. I called for an emergency visit and they got me in to see a dentist in under an hour. They treated me so well and made sure I wasn't going to hurt any more. From the reception desk to the dental assistant and dentist, I was extremely pleased with my visit. Top quality service! Setup next appt for work to be done and was able to get in at a convenient day and time for me. I requested Dr Gerner and Amanda for my next appt as well.
