I was looking for a primary dentist to help me with a broken tooth and didn’t know where to search. So I googled “dentist” and my search found Nelson Family Dentistry right away. I didn’t know what made this dentist stand out from the rest except that they have won “Best of Chico” for many years. That was good enough for me and I made an appointment.
Their office is off the Esplanade and has plenty of parking in the back. I was greeted with an awesome smiling staff that treated me very special. I was impressed with the technology dentistry has evolved into and they explained everything to me. They were even able to squeeze me in for a cleaning! The prognosis on my broken tooth was a root canal which I had to be sent out for. I returned to Nelson Family Dentistry for my crown and had the same pleasant experience.
I would agree they are “Best in Chico “ and now I have a new dentist.

The staff at Nelson Family Dentistry is absolutely wonderful! I brought my 13 month old in to get familiar with the concept of going to the dentist as well as to have his first few teeth checked out. Misty Nelson was so kind and gentle. She had a playful approach with introducing the instruments. I really appreciated the way she took the time to communicate with my son as well as with me. Her assistant Ruby was so sweet and let him pick out a few “treasures” from the treasure chest post visit. Briar, the dental hygienist is by far the most adorable and and knowledgeable hygienist around. Aside from the staff, the office is clean and all the employees were groomed and uniform. I personally enjoy coming to an office that takes pride in their appearance. We were beyond pleased with our experience at Nelson Family Dentistry. I highly recommend!

This man my dentist John Nelson is an angel here on Earth sent from above. He's genuine and he really cares about his clients. Johnny on the spot they saved my tooth my cap came off and he replaced it and bonded it and did everything that needs to be done. Expeditiously with a smile and with true love for caring for other people. I never experienced such love it made me cry. I know he was sent from above. I recommend him highly. I've been in Chico 21 years and I wish I met him first before meeting any of the dentist I've gone to the chicken sandwiches. My oral surgeon Barnes recommended him. I really enjoyed my visit with my new Dentist today. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I decided to try a new dentist to see if I would feel good about sending my family. Well I have to tell you I am a tough cookie to please but they were so wonderful I made appointments for my whole family before I left. I told them they would be in good hands with Dentist John and his staff. I would recommend them to everyone!😊
