I made an appt for my child and myself for a cleaning, which is absolutely covered by my insurance. The staff was nice, but not upfront about costs, not well versed in insurance coverage, and we made an unnecessary trip there because they were unsure about what our insurance covered. The appointment was made weeks in advance. They did x-rays on both of us, but only brushed my child's teeth and told me they would not be able to do a cleaning at that time for my child or me. They never followed up. I had to call them several times to attempt to schedule the cleaning that we drove all the way there for (we don't live in Chico). I finally got ahold of the receptionist, and she quoted me outrageous numbers for cleanings. I almost made the mistake of having the services done, until I called my insurance company. They let me know I was definitely being taken advantage of and the services I was asking for are actually covered . It is safe to say, we won't be back and I recommend reviewing your coverage before using their services.

These guys are wonderful! I needed a root canal this year and every step of the way this team was helpful, professional, valued my time and were precise. Every time I've been there, I feel like I spend hardly any time waiting, everyone is very friendly and I feel like they listen to my concerns and always give me my options. I also feel like they aren't trying to 'over treat' their patients by recommending unnecessary procedures for insurance payouts. Overall, I feel like this office is a gem!

Highly recommend! I went to modern dentistry and they told me I would need a root canal and at least 5,000 worth of work done to my mouth and that was it. They said I would need go go to another place then go back to get a cap on my root canal tooth . When I went into smile makers they made sure to help me with what was bothering me and checked out my tooth and told me I would only need a crown for my tooth and it would only 950 without insurance.all the employees were so nice and attentive and made sure to help me out as much as possible. They gave me antibiotics and ibuprofen to manage the pain when the other place gave me no advice on how to help my pain or discomfort without paying 5,000. So thank you smile makers!

There is a lack of communication from their staff. Had what I thought was an appointment for a root canal, was a consultation which was not clarified to me when making my appointment. Then when I attempted to reschedule, was told they
didn't know when the next availability would be. So I carry on thinking my appointment is set and they will reach out if a later opening comes up. As this is what was discussed. Only to find the day and hour of the appointment, after making arrangements for childcare and work leave. That my appointment was cancelled and I was put on a waiting list to see if there were any openings during the next month. None of which was told to me during the phone call. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
