My husband went here for a routine cleaning and check up, since they were the closest dentist to our house that I found to be covered under our insurance. Short version: they refused to do a routine cleaning and check up and forced him into paying for ~extra~ services that he did not need.
First, they informed him that he could not have a standard cleaning and would have to pay for an upgraded cleaning because they thought he had gingivitis. They later offered to charge him just for the standard cleaning if he bought something else they were selling. The hygienist also said he needed an oral cancer screening, where they charged $50 for her to look in his mouth (my husband and I are both physicians and I can tell you that a young nonsmoker does not need an "oral cancer screening." I do not know what makes a hygienist qualified to risk stratify patients or rule out oral cancer anyway, or diagnose gingivitis, since last time I checked they did not go to medical or dental school). They also tried to sell him upgraded x-rays, special devices to clean his teeth, and more - all unnecessary.
All in all, he ended up paying $150 or so for a routine cleaning that should have been totally covered by insurance, because they kept adding on unnecessary services, most of which he was able to deny but some of which they forced him into, otherwise they would not clean his teeth. Avoid at all costs.

I actually had a crown taken care of here several years ago (either 2005 or 2006) and the whole experience turned into a long-term disaster. I had a root canal done at a prior living location and had a temporary crown, which needed to be switched for a permanent crown (the temp crown to be honest was actually holding up really well. Had I known what would happen I would have just left it). Low on money and not knowing the area well I went to Coast Dental. A young dentist discussed crown options with me and I selected one that was supposed to not leave an obvious crown line. A mold of the tooth was taken and submitted. When the crown arrived it was the wrong size!! The Dentist then had to make several attempts at grinding it to get it to the point it could be fit. And despite the extra money I paid for a "no line" crown, there was still a line present. Total waste of money. The absolute worst part is after the crown was sealed the dentist realized he had accidentally left packed gauze inside that tooth...Now sealed with a crown! His words, "That might get infected in the future, but should be okay for now." Fast forward 7 years later and that tooth was very badly infected and had to be pulled. The x-rays clearly revealed the gauze in the tooth. The cheap irresponsible care I received here caused the pain and problems I later had with that tooth. Do NOT go here! I would have sued if I could have afforded a lawyer, but every spare dime was going towards dental bills. NEVER use Coast!!

This place was awful. The person who did my pre-screening was rude. Then once I actually had my work done my dentist drilled too far into my tooth. So now every time I eat something sweet I have a really sharp pain in my mouth. Which never happened before then. I can honestly say that I will never be going here again.
