semi-nice staff, grungy rooms with dirt caked edges. scheduling is sporadic with massive gaps in appointments. if you are not a dog person probably not the best practice to go with. (specifically their Watertown location)

We had an appointment for my daughter for a filling. We drive over an hour because we live in a remote section of Northern NY with limited dental providers. She rode asleep covered with blankets and when she walked in, had a fever of 99. She has a tentative Lupus diagnosis which sometimes causes intermittent fevers, so it could have been being wrapped up in blankets or it could have been the Lupus. She had no other symptoms.
They wouldn't see her because of COVID restrictions, which made sense. Dr. McCue personally said that we could return the next day for the filling as long as she was fever-free. I took another afternoon off work, spent the gas money again and returned the next day. We were smart enough to not have her wrapped in blankets the whole trip and took her temperature before we left the house and a few times en route. No fever.
We arrived and were told by a Dr. Lee that she would not see her because of the fever yesterday. I explained that we had been told by Dr. McCue himself to return today and that her tooth could be filled as long as she was fever free day of. Dr. Lee held her ground and refused to see her. Then my daughter, thinking she was helping, explained that she'd had a COVID test that morning and it was negative. She had indeed had a COVID test that morning in preparation for an upcoming flight in a few days (negative test required or 14 days of quarantine upon arrival). Dr. Lee said that now she knew my daughter was lying about her symptoms "and probably took a fever reducer today" because you don't get test results that quickly. She also informed us that she has Lupus herself and doesn’t get intermittent fevers. I told her I was glad for her, but that some people do get them and that our family doctor believes this is the case for my daughter. She was sure the COVID test was obtained due to other symptoms that we were hiding. I explained the reason for the test - which had been on our schedule for 10 days due to her upcoming travel - but she would not believe me. My daughter didn't intentionally lie either; she tried to explain that no medical professional felt she needed a test medically due to symptoms, that she was "negative" for any other symptoms. Dr. Lee stuck to her position.
I asked to see Dr. McCue and he backed up Dr. Lee. I reminded him that he was the one who offered this appointment if she was fever free today, and he said that Dr. Lee was correct in her concerns. I asked him why he said she should return today if fever free, if indeed yesterday's fever was enough reason to not see her today. He had no answer. At this point, Dr. Lee turned to him and said, "I'm sorry, Dr. McCue; I didn't know you'd promised to do it today." He waved her silent. I refused to stand down and insisted that this tooth be filled before she took off on a 6-week trip, and he said he would see her himself.
She was in there a total of maybe 10 minutes. I said there was no way they could have removed the decay and filled that tooth already (it was a sizable cavity). They didn't; they did a temporary filling.
I went back in and asked for a "real" filling. I'd taken time off work a second day, at Dr. McCue's request, and she needed adequate care before this trip. He refused to re-do it and stated, "I'd like to know when you completed dental school, since you know more than me." I told him one doesn't need dental school to know when shortcuts are being taken. He said she was going to need a root canal anyway, and so the temporary filling was appropriate. I reminded him that his own Dr. Blount told us that the dentist she’d seen in her college town who told her she needed a root canal had just been trying to get more money; all she needed was a filling. He wouldn’t admit Dr. Blount was mistaken, just repeated that she needed a root canal and so the temporary was justified. Note that this same Dr. Blount told me I had no cavities, even though I could visibly see one. The confirmed that I did.
Her filling fell out within a week of arriving in Alaska. Please see review #2 because he did not improve.

Scheduled an appointment and had to wait three months to get it. Receiveded three confirmation emails with location, time and date for the appointment. Took a taxi to the appointment. Very expensive but needed the appointment desperately for a painful abscess. Arrived only to be told I never had an appointment on that day, time or location and rudely dismissed even thou I had proof via their sent multiple texts. This has happened multiple times. Please don't waste your time or risk your dental needs with their lack of service.

Absolutely horrible! I wouldn't recommend anybody go there. I waited months to actually get an appointment and when I finally went the doctor was not even in. So, they scheduled me second appointment for another two months out. (Did not even get a cleaning this day!) Since I was in pain, I called and got in within a few days, but only to find out that they would do NOTHING AT ALL for me until I had "clearance" from a medical doctor for a health condition. I believe I should have been told this my very first visit. Aside from that, the were just not friendly or professional. Especially Darcie, the hygienist. I left the office in pain, offended, and slightly embarrassed. However, Aqua dental got me in later that same day and prescribed me antibiotics and ibuprofen for my pain and gave me a referral to an oral surgeon. I wish I would have went to them in the first place!

Completely disgusted that my MINOR daughter was refused to be seen by their pediatric specialist Matthew Rausch all because her father wouldn’t leave her alone in the room with him. We live in a sick world where we can’t trust doctors, daycare workers, preachers etc yet this dentist apparently has a policy to not allow parents in the room. She’s a MINOR! 10 years old! We were not made aware of this policy prior to her appointment or given paperwork about it. Would we have known she would have never went.

I'm 40 yeara old and have moved around alot seen lots of different dentists. I gotta say out of all of them they did the best job on my partials. Longest, most derable pair ive ever had. They take pride in their work. My kids go there too and are very comfortable with them and i have no complaints. I read a few of the other reviews and saw one Complaining about the dogs. They are definitely NOT dirty and im not even a dog person . I feel they make the place more friendlier. They are very well groomed dogs. Dont shed, smell great. And in my eyes if someone loves dogs like that enough to bring them to work then that shows they are very caring people. And its a plus for the kids. Makes it ALOT more interesting to go to the dentist. I look forward to seeing them when i visit. As do my kids. Im glad i finally found a dentist i enjoy coming to and trust with my mouth. And every month they do drawings for the kids to win an electric toothbrush. Both my kids won one and were so excited. Love this place and everyone treats you great and they even pull over time on the weekends to accommodate others schedules. Now if thats not a dedicated business that go out the way for the patients, idk what is.

Let me first say that until today, I had not had any complaints about McCue dental at all. The Watertown location recently switched to strictly pediatric dentistry. I took my son there, who is 6 years old with ADHD, to have a procedure done, and paid $75.00 for NOS to try to help soothe him for the procedure. When the dentist applied the Novocaine (stuck a needle in my son's lip) he cried, as I'm sure many many patients do. He was kind of freaked out, so I figured we would give it a second and try again. Nope - the dentist then threw his hands up and stated that they would not be performing the procedure. He walked out of the room, and then came back and just about threw a referral paper at me and stated "call an NET or another dentist office" and walked away. The referral paper didn't have today's date, my son's name or DOB on it anywhere. This is supposed to be a PEDIATRIC dentist???? But if a child gets upset because something hurts they just throw their hands up and refuse to do it and then refuse to give you back the money you paid up front without even performing the procedure. I will be pulling my kids out of this dentist immediately.

3 seperate silver fillings crumbled in less then 1 week. Also cosmetic bonding feel out within 24 hours, redone 3 times, all fell out. Had to be removed and corrected by another office. My daughter had a filling done that also fell out with 1 month. Dentist small pet dog wonders the office/exam rooms during cleanings and procedures which does not give you a clean sterile feeling.

STAY AWAY!! This place is an absolute disaster I went there in june or july to have an issue with my wisdom tooth looked at, at which time they got my obs letter since im pregnant. They told me to come back and i needed 3 fillings done. I come back for my next appointment and the tech EMILY gets out the Novocaine and before she goes and gets the dentist says something to the affect of anything new or anything we should know or something like that and I go you guys are tracking im pregnant right? She goes oh no omg no we didnt know that (I was just there a month prior pregnant they needed the release so how arent they tracking this in my file) she then goes to the draw where the pain medicine is and out loud starts going through the different numbing medicines and says nope cant use this one the babys heart rate will increase too much, nope cant use this one it might cause a miscarriage, nope oh wait maybe nope not this one and then finally decides on one.....at this point i contemplate running which i should have honestly and then the dentist comes in who has since been fired for apparent issues.BARRI. Its been an hour at this point and he is incredibly unprofessional and says things to me like why are you even here if your pregnant, next time plan better when you get pregnant, and i cant do all 3 fillings i dont have enough time. (I was there for over an hour at this point) He does 1 cavity and asks me if I can feel it and i go yes so he files it down asks me again and i say yes i can and then he proceeds to go i dont have all day for this and i have other patients to which EMILY laughs. Looking back I should have ran I should have reported them right away but I was so traumatized by it I could mutter anything out I was just trying to hold back the tears praying my baby was ok . The tech EMILY walks me out to the front desk they look at something on the screen and say your good to go and i respond with ok thats it then and she goes yes but call back when you have your baby (I need my wisdom teeth taken out). I leave visibly shaking I get in the car where my husband is and just start crying and telling him everything that happened and he wanted me to go to his lawyers and report them right away but I just wanted to forget it ever happened. I receive a bill for 44 dollars sept 3rd i call and ask them why am i getting a bill and the office lady goes oh no just disregard that bill and i go ok then a week ago I receive another bill for 24 dollars I call again and they tell me thats my copay when they told me I didnt have a copay the day of service and told me to disregard the 44 dollar bill so I have a manager call me back WENDY and shes incredibly rude I tell her everything that happened to me that day and her response to it was well why didnt you say something that day . I guess that could be fair except I was literally shaking and could barely pull myself together and just wanted out so i tried to forget it. Then tells me if i dont pay the bill she will put me in collections tomorrow....I just got the bill thats not even legal. I told her they should just comp the 24 dollars since my husband had to take off work and i didnt even receive the services i had scheduled that day (cleaning 3 fillings only 1 filling done no cleaning) and she goes no pay or ill put you in collections. She refused to give me a way to contact her boss only saying she will have him call me .My cavity is still messed up and I will have to go to another dentist to fix it because I will never go back there again after what they put me through. STAY AWAY
