Dr. Dobracki and the entire staff of AAD are incredible. I hadn't been to a dentist in over a decade, and was extremely worried about what I'd end up facing, however everyone at AAD was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and all procedures have been done in great comfort. The seats have warmers and massagers, and the staff made me feel like a person, not just a mouth to tend to. Ann Arbor's Dentist is the best dentistry office I have ever visited, hands down.

Dental work is great and the knowledge and care that the dental staff takes is wonderful.
Unfortunately, the office personal are lacking in many areas. They have an office policy where an appt. that is not canceled within 48 hours a charge of $100 is instituted; which I respect and understand why these need to be put in place. ($100 is excessive considering they almost always fill these slots but whatever) However, I set a "placeholder" which was the term that was used by the office staff for my daughter to have a procedure a day before we were going on vacation. After thinking about it further I called to reschedule and was told that my "placeholder" was actually a confirmed appt and that the $100 fee would apply. Our concerns were openly discussed while in the office and it most certainly was apparent that this was not something I was ready to commit to; however they were adamant to show no grace for this fee and lost a family of 5 from their practice as a result of it.
In my conversations with the office manager I explained my shock as I proceeded to cancel all of our pre-scheduled appts. how disheartening it was that they didn’t care and in the next sentence she proceeded to tell me that I signed a document that stated a confirmed appt. would have this cost and if not paid it would be going to collections. SERIOUSLY! You just lost 5 patients in addition to any future referrals (we have at least 6 on file with them now) and you want to follow up how my $100 for the appt. I NEVER confirmed will go to collections. Get your office staff consistently and thoroughly trained before it runs you to the ground.

>>>>Thank you for responding to my review, I appreciate you taking the time and again I understand why these procedures are put in place. However, it is super important that the message from your staff is clear and consistent. It was not clear when I called back after leaving the office for cleaning appt. that this was a confirmed appt. As far as the doctor staying late, you must have me confused with another patient as we asked if he could stay late on Monday to pull after her cleaning so we wouldn't need to return Wednesday (the day before our vacation) and this was not an option. Again, much appreciate the response and very happy that we have resolution because I am so happy with the dental team at your office.

The simple truth: This place is the best dentist office in Ann Arbor. They took so much time to help me feel comfortable, explained things to me in more depth than ever before, and most importantly to me, they took the time to show me how to actually prevent problems and not drill on my teeth.

The long truth: Moving from a high end dental office in L.A. I was not expecting a lot in Ann Arbor but this place was incredible. They have a great family small office feel and a holisitic approach to fixing teeth. They even worked with my naturopath. On my first visit the doctor's baby was in the office and the staff made food that day for lunch and offered me some since I was hungry. I have never felt "more at home" at a doctors office.

I came in with a systemic problem that caused me to be on steroids for almost a year. My body was tired and I have never felt worse. I bounced form doctor to doctor and drug to more drugs. After a very thourough exam they discovered some serious infection and allergy problems in my mouth due to root canals and Mercury. Dr. Dobracki actually came to some meetings with my naturopath and they created a game plan for me. Now I'm off ALL medications, have NEVER felt better, and am VERY excited about life. I feel very grateful to this office and never understood how metal and infection in the mouth have such an impact on overall health. But I have also never met a doctor who cared so much about health either. He actually printed off a gym membership form at my last visit because I have procrastinated joining for 4 months.....haha I have sine joined:)
The hygienists are great as well and offer gluten-free, fluoride-free, and preservative free options. I never realized those pastes used at the dentist are loaded with chemicals and Fluoride. They were even able to use lazers and ultrasonics to remineralize my teeth.
I'm not a big fan of dogs but they do have a dental comfort dog there (Dustin?) which I thought was a great idea for my kids. Our family is big into recycling, so the fact they were a green eco-friendly office spoke highly to us and we appreciate them taking the extra effort. They also do great outreach things. They sent an assistant to Haiti to help create water sources for people living in the mountains and they just held a Christmas party for 2 local kids whose mom was in the hospital over Christmas and couldn't afford a Christmas HOW COOL IS THAT??

Being a naturopathic physician I am very leery of these self proclaimed "holistic dentists". They seem to be springing up everywhere. I saw 3 local dentists to have my Mercury fillings removed safely and NOT ONE knew what they were doing. They told me the staff would "suction a lot" and they have done this many times. They were not familiar with metal accumulation, how to prepare for removal or what to do after. They were just out to make a quick buck and really left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I found Dr. Dobracki on the highest accredited websites and was very impressed. His knowledge as a dentist paralleled mine as a physician when it came to metal toxicity and how to help the body. I even learned some new information to pass on to patients. He had no idea I practiced naturopathic medicine and his explanations were spot on. My exam took over and hour alone where they discuses genetics, diet, circulatory system, and excretion mechanisms. Every one of my teeth were imaged and I was shown the changed in density, cracks, and metal leakage.
I was ready to get them out that day but they are very firm about their protocols to get the body ready prior to any work. I appreciated the visit greatly and look foreword to detoxing my body. You will not be disappointed at this office. Amazing knowledge base, friendly staff, and even a dog! THANKS!

I just wrote this review and it erased somehow. I guess I must of really liked my visit to redo this whole thing!
I broke my tooth recently...stupid movie theatre popcorn....and procrassinated going to the dentist mainly because I have never liked my dentist. My tooth finally flared up and I saw a different dentist in Ann Arbor. It was terrible. I was left confused, in pain, and a plan for $10,000 to fix my poor tooth. This confirmed why I did not like the dentist and did not return.
I waited 2 more weeks and the tooth pain got worse and I tried my luck in Saline. Also not a good time. I was thrown in, no one knew why I was there, I saw the dentist for 30 seconds before she ran out, and I had to repeat myslef over and over. NOting accomplished... and pain got worse.
Right when I thought the situation was hopeless my co worker refered me to Dr. Dobracki at Ann Arbors Dentist. IT WAS AMAZING. yes, AMAZING...at the dentist. That says a lot coming from me.
Dr. DObracki's main concerns were my comfort and understanding of the situation. HE explained so much to me and taught me so many things about my teeth and made the pain stop. I felt so relaxed and comfortable. They have a therapy dog there but he was not in. I guess he was at Motts children's hospital which I think is pretty cool.
My tooth was fixed and looks great. I had a shuolder rub by Elaine(?) when I received an injection, they showed me digital pictures and xrays of my tooth and even gave me headphones so I did not hear all the noises. I actually think i EVEN FELL ASLEEP. Dr. Dobracki even safley removed the Mercury in that tooth, which now I greatly appreciate after reading up on it.
I never thought I would write a review for a dentist but this place is truly special. Just a great caring team. My tooth feels great and I am looking foreward to returning. I actually just purchased a home in Birmingham and will still be making the commute to come here.....and maybe Zingermans:)

THANK YOU DR. DOBRACKI! I have not been able to confidently smile in over ten years. Granted my bad teeth were my fault but my fear of the dentist was also difficult to overcome. One of the UM football coaches recommended Ann Arbor's Dentist to me and I am forever thankful.... My own grandkids would tease me about my teeth which I tired to play off, but it really hurt me inside. The doctor and staff were so welcoming and changed my perception about teeth and oral health. I was able to remineralize a few of my back teeth and after receiving some crowns and veneers across my front teeth I AM BEYOND excited to smile. Before I would look down when talking with people because I was so ashamed. This office did not judge me at all, if anything they were able to change my whole life style for the better. Dr. Dobracki works in conjunction with some naturopathic doctors/nutritionists in town and since I have changed my diet, appearance and energy level. This is more than a dental office, they really care about improving your overall health.
I can now exercise regularly, eat dense foods, and most importantly smile and take pictures with my 5 grandchildren! I cannot speak more highly about this office or their staff. They even have a cool dog there and they do periodic free dentistry days for the community.

The parking lot was mostly ice but someone from the office immediately shoveled a path from my car to the front door upon my arrival. Hygienist Justin was very personable, professional and provided some wonderful tips to help me improve my dental care at home.
