Austin Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics

Very bad service, looks like their main goal is to extract as much money from the patients as possible. I went for the tooth cleaning service, and they look x-ray, and have charged for "education on flossing". They didnt say anything upfront and took my appointment for cleaning only. Apparently the doctor changed so they treated me as new patient and charged new patient fees and so that doctor wanted an x-ray taken so they charged that also. If I could give 0 stars, I would have done that.

Outstanding service and team. Sweet, helpful, efficient and friendly staff! They helped me through a dental implant and many complications I was having! Dr. Wollingford is a great dentist and is very sweet and wise. He did a great job refining my temporary denture which was quite tricky too. I wound up using a periodontist up North due to my timing affiliated with their clinic at the the North Round Rock Modern Dentistry in order to use my Smile Discount program through them==her name is Dr. Marcy Joe Watson who was also great in every way during a potentially complex and painful dental implant that she made a breeze!

Just finished my first dental check up with Modern this morning. I got my appointment about 2 days ago, they were very helpful with scheduling promptly. Service and staff was great and fast. Dentist and technicians were super, and Dentist is at that location for the long haul. Won't get a revolving dentist. Stick with Steve. Plus, they go over the benefits you have and what the costs are up front with you in a very clear and understandable manner. Great Dentist and office.

I just started coming to austin modern dentistry and so far my two appointments have been so nice thanks to my doctor and the dental assistants. I had some fillings done (best experience I’ve had with fillings yet btw) and had some anxiety towards the end pretty bad. Dr. Alston and the dental assistant maddy stayed after hours to take care of me and made sure I was comfortable again. They were pleasant my whole appointment and really took great care of me!! Highly recommended :)

After several lackadaisical-to-bad visits to dental offices in South Austin, I finally found Austin Modern Dentistry! I could not be happier with their fast, friendly, and thorough service, and so I would like to recommend them with five stars here. Needing a checkup and cleaning as well as a replacement for a broken crown, I called my usual office, which told me I could get three separate appointments, with the cleaning four months out! I realized then that I had no idea who I might be seeing, as that office kept changing (or losing) hygienists, receptionists, and even dentists. Austin Modern Dentistry was an entirely different experience, starting with making the appointment and being greeted in the, yes, very modern reception area. I was pleasantly surprised that Dr. Wolfington, who had been recommended to me, welcomed me to his office to discuss procedures and sent me to get x-rays. I watched a movie in the chair while I got my checkup and cleaning. And rather than getting one of those gummy impressions for a temporary and then new crown, the area was imaged digitally and the new crown made in house within an hour or two in a device not unlike a 3-D printer! I have always had a shy smile but walked out that day happy--and smiling! Book an appointment today...

DO NOT COME HERE. Terrible service that literally made me wince in pain every other second. And billing my insurance with a lot more items than expected.

It was the end of the year and I wanted to use my insurance before the end of the year. They had a spot for me so that's why I went to them. I should've checked the reviews first.

The staff who took my x-ray was very nice and kind.

My dentist was also very nice until she started working on me. It was a female dentist that I don't even see picture on their website so now I'm questioning whether or not it was a real dentist or not. But I understand that I have a gum problem because I don't floss as often as I should. I get it. They did a gum test where I flinched every other second due to pain. So they were very well aware of how bad my gums were. But they still proceeded to do a deep scaling without any kind of anesthetic or numbing medicine/gel. It was the most painful cleaning I have ever had done in my entire life. I was wincing in pain every time the dentist touched and she knew very well. All she said the whole time was "I know, I know."

My company tells us that we should ask the provider to invoice/bill our insurance first before we pay them but they pretended like they had no idea how to do that and forced me to pay my portion right up front. It was not much and seemed correct at the time with only TWO items on my receipt (exam + scaling). However, when I checked with my insurance company (bcbs), AMD had billed them for EIGHT items.

Went in for a cleaning last week--seconds before it was to begin, I'm talking hygienist had tools in hand and my mouth open, someone came to tell her that she needed to clean the teeth of the person in the next room. She apologized and said she'd be back. After waiting in the chair for 30 minutes, she returned and it nearly happened again--someone came in and telling her she needed to do another cleaning before mine. I then had to wait another 10 minutes while they pulled up my chart to review payment. I had already been in the office for nearly 2 hours at this point-why wasn't anything ready?? In total, I was in the office for 3.5 hours for a routine cleaning. The hygienist asked if I was a walk-in like the others--no, I'd had my appointment for 2 months. So, basically I was delayed service because two others walked in after me. The only ONLY great part of my experience that was amazing why Kaela, the hygienist. She was sweet, polite, courteous, and just plain awesome. I will come back, if anything, for her. This place was amazing when I was getting my invisalign with Dr. Faulker. But the service I experience last week and these reviews are making me want to take my business elsewhere.

I had to go in for a dental emergency and the staff here turned the stressful and scary pain, into the most pleasant experience at a dental office I had. I walked in for my appointment and immediately was greeted, the check in was quick and speedy, and I even had great conversation with the front office team. When my time was up, I was escorted to my room, and greeted by the hygienist and doctor. They truly care about you here, as I could tell when I told them what was occurring, and they offered a plan on how to get rid of the pain, to see the root of the problem. They ended up fixing the issue, and went over in detail how to make sure this doesn't happen again. 10/10 would recommend this office, not only cause they help but because this office truly cares for their patients.

Dr. Marie Alston is the most knowledgeable and down to earth. Her recommended treatments that would help the health of my smile and overall health. The whole team was just amazing.

Dr. Ochoa was great! The staff was friendly and easy to work with. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
