Great experience on my first visit with family dentistry. Dr Adlakha was very sweet and patient and knowledgeable. I'm extremely nervous about dental work. She took her time and explained everything. Alex, dental assistant, was
great. Very personable, patient and knew what he was doing. Leila, at the front desk, was so nice and knowledgeable. She explained the work to be done and the cost. The office is so clean and calming. Everyone that I met made me feel less anxious and comfortable about being at a dentist.

The office staff is very thorough, conscientious and full of kind hearts and I’ve always felt confident in Dr. Megha Bassi and her abilities as my Dentist. I know that most people shriek at the thought of getting your teeth cleaned but my Dental Hygienist, JaQuaye Adams, creates a peaceful, relaxed and serene state while doing a superb job of cleaning your teeth. I would definitely recommend Family Dentistry on Manchaca.

My son says Dr Bassi is the best because she knows everyone by name and remembers things about him. He loves her and he’s had two fillings! She makes us both feel welcome and comfortable. And the front office always makes sure there are no questions about the cost of everything. I feel like that’s rare in a dentist’s office! We’ll never go anywhere else!

Since its nearly around the corner from my house I decided to give it a shot a year ago for the kids checkup since it would be a quick drive and little hassle. I was very impressed by the atmosphere, attitude, and skill of nurses and doctors. My kids absolutely loved it, and when I had to take them back for their check-ups they WANTED to go. Since my kids seemed to enjoy it so much I decided to get my long over due chompers an overhaul. 3 visits in and I can say I've never felt more happy with a dentist. They do excellent work, no bs or shame about teeth, just an amazing "we can fix this" attitude and wonderful aftercare.

This was my second visit and just like the first time, they were running late. While I did not let this sway my opinion on my first visit back in Oct 2020, to have yet another scheduled appointment run late (25 minutes this time), I did find this a bit annoying and wonder if this is common practice. ?? I was also disappointed that NO ONE introduced themselves. I 'think' the hygienist was the same one I saw last time but to be honest I have no idea. I was seated and seen by a male assistant first, he took my x-rays and did the polishing first (which I've never had done before a cleaning). Then while I was still leaned back, with dark glasses on nonetheless, the hygienist came in, said hello and did call me by name, but then just proceeded to get started. The cleaning was good but there was no periocharting or blood pressure taken; it was okay though. After the cleaning, while still leaned back, the Doc comes in and does a quick check and that was that.
While nothing went 'wrong', I will say I was just simply disappointed. After spending over 20 years in the dental field for a private practice I guess you could say I'm just used to the Doc and staff trying to do a bit of relationship building with their patients; not treating them just as 'a name on a chart'; if you will. This appears to be a very impersonal office with very little staff/doc/patient interaction. They do not really ask how you've been, what you've been up to or take notes of any kind of news in your life to address again at your next visit. Like I said, very impersonal. Again, nothing wrong but this is not the place to visit if you like that 'family feel' kinda environment.
