Dentistry at Vickery Creek: John Ananthasane DMD, MS

I love Dr. John and his staff. They are always friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at ease and like they've known you for years. Dr. John is very thorough and always makes sure you are comfortable and not in any pain. I've had basic cleanings, a filling or two, and a root canal/crown placement here. I was in major pain when I needed the root canal, and they worked me in same day to at least get it started so that I wouldn't be in so much pain. I was so scared about the root canal as I had never had one, and you always hear horrible things about them. Dr. John and his assistant were wonderful. All throughout the procedure he asked how I was doing and if I needed a break. He always makes sure you are not in any pain at all. He really cares about your comfort. If something is uncomfortable he will do what he can to make it better. If you have any dental anxieties this is a great place for you. Before they do a procedure they will run an estimate of your portion. They are VERY up front about it being just an estimate. They then run it through insurance, and you might have a little more or a little less to pay. This is not a surprise. You know this going in. I do not feel like they are just here to make the most money. I need a nighttime mouth guard for grinding, and he was totally up front about the fact it would cost a ton to have him make one for me (although he would if I wanted). I was shown which ones were really just as good to order from Amazon. I appreciate honesty like this. My 16 year old daughter switched over to Dr. John from her solely pediatric dentist that she felt too old to go to anymore, and she really likes it and will continue to come here.

I have been a patient of Dr. John's for over 5 years. I have referred many of my family and friends to him also. The whole staff is professional and very friendly. Like a lot of people, going to the dentist is not something I look forward to, but Dr. John and his staff do everything they can to make it as painless and pleasant as possible. Caring, knowledgeable and professional all the way.

I am a new patient for Dr. John and the team at the Vickery Creek office and I could not give enough praise about how wonderful this team is. They are top notch in their skills and dental knowledge and did not hurt me once!! So if you are looking for a great dentist, I highly recommend Dentistry at Vickery Creek. Folks, I grew up in Forsyth county and had to go to the dentist just like us all. I promise that you will stay with this place indefinitely. I've never had an actual great experience at the dentist until I found Dr. John and his awesome staff. I'm a standard blue collar local. It's great to engage with people that honestly care about you, especially when it comes to dental work. No lie, they did 17 cavities, 2 crowns, and my 4 wisdom teeth extractions, and after all that I can say that I continue to feel like I visit family when I walk in the door. I am a physician and just moved to the Atlanta area. I found Dr. John via recommendations from several people. I am thoroughly impressed with this practice in many ways. This office is very up to date with the latest technology. So far, I feel Dr. John's work is exceptional and he really goes the extra mile to give you the best care. For example, he even came in on a Sunday for an emergency visit because I was leaving town and needed the issue taken care of before I left.

Dr. John and his staff are amazing - have been going to them for myself and my two younger sons (4 & 9) for about five years now. Great hygienists. They are wonderful with my boys - and the younger one has a tendency to be difficult. I also recently had a dental emergency when I was out of town on the West Coast, and was able to reach Dr. John and work out a plan - such a relief. Highly recommend for adults and children alike.

Our family just started going to Dr. John recently and we are very happy with him and his staff, The office is very efficient ad clean. Dr. John is very knowledgeable and informative. We feel we are receiving superior dental care and happy we found his practice. We highly recommend him.

Similarly to some of the other reviewers, my experience with this dentist unfortunately left me feeling that they are very DISHONEST.
My wife and I found this dentist when we were looking for a nearby location to get our teeth cleaned. When my wife called to schedule an appointment and provide our insurance information prior to having any procedures performed, she was told by this dentist that they "accepted" our insurance.
During her cleaning, she was informed that she needed to have several old cavity fillings replaced, so she was scheduled for two additional appointments to have the work done. We were told that our out-of-pocket costs (after our insurance was applied) would be close to $900. That was admittedly a little higher than we expected, but we knew that our dental insurance required a copay (even for in-network dentists), and we knew that it was a lot of dental work, so we agreed.
A few days after these procedures were completed, we received the explanation of benefits form from our insurance company. We additionally received a letter from them noting that this dentist was out of network, and we could have saved approximately $700 by using an in-network dentist!
When we were originally told by this dentist that they "accepted" our insurance, we assumed that meant that they were in-network. At no point during the scheduling or prescreening procedures were we informed by this dentist that they were not in-network for our dental insurance, even though we provided them with all of our insurance information up front.
I understand that it's ultimately our responsibility to make sure that we are using an in-network dentist (if that's what we were looking for, which we were), but I also believe that this dentist was extremely dishonest in leading us to believe that they were in our network. They knew exactly what they were doing by telling us that they "accepted" our insurance. They didn't care how much we had to pay - they just wanted to be able to do the work and charge the higher out-of-network prices. When we subsequently called them to try and negotiate a lower rate, given that they had blatantly failed to inform us they were out of network, they acted like they had no idea they were not in our network. That's clearly a lie, since we provided them all of our insurance information up-front.
I definitely would not recommend this dentist. I think that this experience is an indication of how they run their business - dishonestly!

I found Dr. John's office through Google after a very unpleasant and nerve-wracking experience at another local dentist's office, where I had been a patient for several years. Long story short, at my old dentist's office, I went in with mild tooth pain and was referred to an endodontist for "probably a root canal and possibly extraction" of my supposedly cracked tooth. I called Dentistry at Vickery Creek and June was so helpful in getting an appointment set up so that I could be seen quickly. After my experience at the other dentist's office, I was very nervous and looking for a second opinion more than anything. Dr. John and his staff made me feel immediately at ease. Dr. John performed a thorough exam of not just the tooth that was bothering me, but of all the others, and told me what needed to be fixed, and exactly how. They got me in quickly for treatment, and rather than leaving with a root canal or extraction, I left with a very well-repaired filling (which had been cracked) and a completely pain free tooth. Dr. John even personally called me two days later to check and see how the pain was doing. I am so grateful to Dr. John and his staff for helping me to feel at ease and for providing treatment that is superior by far to any other dentist I have ever been to. I highly recommend Dentistry at Vickery Creek.

My family and I have had the BEST experiences at Dentistry at Vickery Creek. Both my husband and I have gone there for a couple of years and we just starting to bring our daughters for cleanings. Our four year old was abolustely petrified of going to the dentist. When she got in the chair to have a teeth cleaning, her hands were shaking. The dental assistant took her time to show my daughter each and every tool and how it worked. She chatted with my daughter until she was comfortable enough to start the cleaning process. After our first visit, my daughter was much more comfortable about going to the dentist office. Her second visit was still a little rocky to start off, and Dr. John even had her come in for a 'happy' visit, so that she could become more comfortable with the process and the staff. Now she talks about how going to the dentist is great, and she just LOVES Dr. John. We would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone. Very friendly and helpful staff, Ms. June, Dr. John, and the dental assistants have been so very helpful!!
