Downriver Smiles

I've been coming to Downriver Smiles for years. They are very diligent about my care. They've been doing a great job with my aging mouth.

I came here for a second opinion and at the recommendation of a friend. The front desk were polite though not friendly, same with the hygienist but Dr Gaunt was friendly and I felt comfortable with him. Their estimate (after I gave them my insurance card etc) was similar to the other office which works with my plan often. I decided to go ahead with their services.
After I had had 2 appointments (out of 4 total needed) I started to get bills from them saying that I owed hundreds more (I had paid over $30 in "copays" already) because my plan didn't reimburse the way they had "expected".
When I called for explanation I was basically told that they did nothing wrong, the insurance controlled anything and I was just stuck with paying for this. There was no apology or concern for me at all.
In the end I wish I had gone with the other office. This office (except for the inability to give an accurate quote) was fine but not spectacular enough to justify the extra cost.
I would suggest knowing exactly how your plan works before going in because they do not preauthorize before doing work (but they don't tell you that either).

Best dentist in Spokane! Don’t look any further! I chipped my front tooth and they got me in the next day! Left with a beautiful smile and my wallet still intact! I wasn’t an existing patient, but I am now! Awesome environment and extremely friendly staff! 10/10 hands down would recommend !

They do an amazing job here and are always accommodating.

Broke a molar and needed a crown. From my initial meeting with Shelley and Dr Gaunt just before Thanksgiving, to the temporary crown on 12/4 with comprehensive exam with xrays I know this will be my new dental home.
Desiree is the best assistant I've ever had, hands down!
Their professionalism and respect for their patients mirrors the way staff treats each other, creating a wonderful experience. A two hour procedure flew by in no time.
Highly recommend this office and will do so often.

This place is FANTASTIC! I brought in my three children, 4yrs old and under, by myself and we all were treated so well by all the kind and giving staff members! While I was getting my cleaning my kids could be within ear shot but in a very kid friendly room and my 21mo old was free to be by my side or poke her head around, at one point one of the hygienist was even holding her just to be nice. Truely warmed my heart to join such a family friendly practice!!! Plus the kids loved their goodie bags and the dental work was comprehensive as well as timely - in and within 1hr for all of us! Thank YOU!!

I finally found a dentist, I can’t believe it. Truly compassionate atmosphere for my whole family. They even have a kids area that I had to utilize in which my kiddos were safe. I had to bring my 3 month old be cause we just moved here. She started screaming when I was in the middle of a procedure and a staff member grabbed her car seat and walked around with her and she was happy again. The dentist I saw made it clear that he truly cares about the health of my teeth and not just making a quick buck. We’ve had horrible experiences with dentists in the past in which we had to spend thousands only to have it re-done because of poor work. I truly recommend this office!!

I had quite a bit of work done, root canal, an extraction. crowns, deep cleaning, the works.
They did an excellent painless job, and I consider myself a chicken.
I definitely recommend them.
