The hygienist was great (Janet). Super thorough and professional. On the other hand, I had a crown done by Dr Hearon. Terrible work! My temporary filling came out 3 times in a 2 week period for not choosing the right procedure. And to add a cherry of top- when my permanent filling finally arrived, It lasted less than a week ! My nerve exposed and felt excruciating pain each time the filling came out. Thank god I was appointed to see Dr Sue and he took charge of the situation. I could feel the work done properly, each step done mindfully and with skill of a true professional: total opposite as the mediocre treatment I initially received. So yes, I recommend HFDC for hygiene and for dental work make sure to choose your doctor.

I have been a satisfied patient at Hawaii Family Dental @ 500 Ala Moana (aka Restaurant Row) since October 2018. The large welcoming r waiting area serves an impressive group of dedicated dentists, oral surgeons, dental hygienists, technicians, nurses & administrative support staff. The treatment rooms have up to date dental equipment and one or more large computer screens which are used to explain x rays & dental procedures to patients & to assist the dental professionals as they work. Costs are clearly defined & thoroughly explained prior to treatment AND before you pay. Based on my 70+ years experience I hereby endorse & recommend Hawaii Family Dental for your family dental needs.

The dentist, hygienist and other staff were very friendly and professional during all three of my recent visits. Dr. Hall answers questions and gives good explanations. I am having some sensitivity in one of the new fillings so will be back & hoping it will be an easy & inexpensive fix.

I highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental Center. The staff is so friendly, understanding, and encouraging. You feel very welcome and liked. I go to Dr. Bono and she is so lovely and gracious. She is also an excellent dentist of the highest quality and the best one I have ever been to. She has done some great work for me and makes my visits so pleasant and comfortable. She is very friendly too. Also the teeth cleaning is great and very thorough. The dental chairs are very comfortable and relaxing. This may sound funny, but I actually like to go to my appointments there. Also Dr. Bono fitted me with a wonderful night guard.

Hawaii Family Dental is such an improvement on my previous providers. I feel very comfortable with the hygienists, my kind dentist, Dr. Mitsunaga, my Invisalign Orthodontist, Dr. Stevens, and wonderful staff. I have regular care and now have insurance, but Hawaii Family Dental helped me afford dental care earlier on with their own plan. Dr. M. is concerned about my general health and lets me know of any issues he suspects, even warning me that my future retainers may not fit if I get a new crown on a tooth. HDS is a great help too, so I have no worries about my dental health.

This is both a hard and easy review to give. It takes retrospect though to understand. I started going down to Restaurant Row to get consultation about implants or even pulling all my teeth and getting plates. The doc assured me that neither of those methods would be good for me right now. My age being a factor. That in 20-30 yrs, if that is the way I still want to go, then, that can be on the table, but as of now, I have too many healthy teeth and what has been damaged can be fixed. The assessment was an aggressive treatment plan that would have me up and operational with others little the wiser in less than two months. All is done now, and I can honestly say, every visit was very professional and comforting. The amount of detail put into my teeth and smile, amazing.
