I decided to go to Mendota Springs because I had a dental emergency, it was near my home at the time, and it had great reviews online. I wish I had looked at ALL of the reviews, because the more descriptive comments all share a theme - greed and lack of empathy. It takes a lot for someone to come on here to write a review like this to caution others.
The good: The office itself is GORGEOUS, which was actually a bit of a red flag for me (patients pay for those fancy decor extras) but I have to say the office and treatment rooms are clean and well designed. The reception staff was GREAT and very caring.
The bad: The hygienist was nice, but a bit detached. Seemed like she was tense and rushed- as others have commented, the cleaning felt incomplete. The dentist was condescending and I felt embarrassed. I was convinced to buy a dental “plan” for several hundred dollars, so I decided to come back for 2 extractions and eventual implants. One extraction was a molar, and took a LONG time. The dentist seemed to blame me for my long tooth roots. Ok…sorry? I was in terrible pain and had cried throughout the end of the extraction. She then scoffed at me when I asked about pain management.
The ugly: the big evil molar got dry socket a couple days later. I went in, tooth throbbing and level 10 pain. I couldn’t eat or sleep at this point. Sat in the waiting room for 20-30 minutes writhing in pain, only to see the dentist for a few minutes to give me some natural ointment for the dry socket. Unbelievable…now I’m left to find a different dentist because I will not go back to be treated like garbage. The owners/investors are image focused and don’t seem to really care about the people they are “caring” for.

I had a great experience today at Mendota Springs. Everyone at the clinic was very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Jacoby was very friendly and took his time with me today at my appointment. I didn’t feel I was being judged or shamed for not having a perfect dental routine lol. I look forward to bringing the rest of my family here for their dental needs.

The front desk staff were wonderful, polite, and respectful when checking in. The Dr's. Assistants were knowledgeable in their work field and made the visit very comfortable. The dentist her self was very straightforward with a plan after examining my teeth and explained the situation so I could understand the terminology she was speaking about. Overall I had a great first dental experience with Mendota Springs Dentistry and would recommend this location to other people I know. Keep up the good work.

I was a patient here for about 2 years, and while the staff was delightful. I would recommend a different dentist if you have any gum or periodontal issues. The only treatment they gave me was a deep cleaning and scaling every 3 months. Which cost me a fortune. I switched dentists at the beginning of this year and now have healthy gums, without any recession, and I'm due to get braces in a few weeks. Turns out there are other options other than just scaling the teeth and gums every three months and hoping for the best.

Thank you for finding a way to see me quickly to address my jaw pain. This was my first visit and was highly impressed with the new patient intake process, the dental assistant and Dr Shadrick. All were friendly, great communicators and highly proficient at their portion of the practice. They work together as a well-coordinated provider.
Have been putting off looking for a dentist since moving to the area 6 years ago. Can't believe I waited so long with these fantastic folks just down the road. I'm hooked!!

I have been going to Mendota Springs Dentistry for a few years now and have enjoyed everyone that I've interacted with. They are professional, modern, and helpful. Bonus: They have TVs on the screen for you to watch anything on Netflix that you'd like! I'm moving away soon and am bummed I'll need to find a new dentist.

Mendota Springs Dentistry is amazing! By far the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. Everyone was beyond kind, actively listened to me, and made me feel so happy and comfortable. The office is also lovely and feels very welcoming. The Front Office staff are very accommodating and were great at answering all of my scheduling/billing questions. The Dental Assistant that worked with me, Molly, was so wonderful. She was very attentive and made my appointment a really positive experience. Finally, Dr. Opps was the best! He made me feel so safe and respected, answered all of my questions, and was so easy to talk to. He clearly cares deeply about his patients and their health. I would highly recommend Mendota Springs Dentistry to everyone and anyone. I am so happy to have found a phenomenal new dentist and am looking forward to my next appointment!
